Board Elections
The podiatrist Board members are elected by the voting registrants of the College, except for those appointed by the Board to fill a vacancy. A Board election must be held in any calendar year in which a Board term ends.
Board Terms
Board terms are 3 years in duration, from the close of the Annual General Meeting in the year of election to the close of the AGM in the third following year. Board members may serve up to 3 consecutive terms.
Board Vacancies
Board vacancies occurring for any reason (e.g. resignation, death, removal) between elections may be filled by appointment made by the remaining Board members.
IMPORTANT RULES
Eligibility to Stand for Election
Under the current College bylaws, only registrants in the Full class of registration may stand for election and serve on the Board. A nominee must provide a signed consent form to stand for election.
Note that the revised bylaws approved by the Board, assuming they come into force, will expand eligibility to registrants in the Non-practising registration class.
Nominating Candidates for Election
Under the current College bylaws, only registrants in the Full class of registration may nominate candidates.
A Full registrant may nominate one other Full registrant for each open position, and must sign the nomination form.
