FOUR CLASSES OF REGISTRANTS
There are 4 classes of registration in the College of Podiatric Surgeons of BC:
Full – F (sometimes referred to as ‘Active’)
The registration class for general active practice. Must be renewed annually through submission of a renewal application, fee and proof of annual continuing education and other semi-regular requirements.
Non-Practising – NP (sometimes referred to as ‘Inactive’ or ‘Retired’)
Registrants in the Non-practising class are not entitled to practice but for a nominal fee may remain connected to and involved in the College.
Educational – E (sometimes referred to as ‘Student’)
Available to DPM graduates who are enrolled in an approved post-graduate podiatric residency program. Registrants in this class may practice to the full scope of podiatric medicine, but must be supervised by a registrant in the Full Class and may not delegate podiatric tasks.
Temporary – T
Available for temporary assistance or coverage for compelling situations. Registrants in this class may practice to the full scope of podiatric medicine, but the license is of limited duration. Available for a 90 day term that may be renewed one time only.
